-Beaches: Cariño has several lovely beaches. Playa de Fornos or Playa de la Basteira would be the most popular choices, for their fine sands and calm waters. Here you can relax, take morning or afternoon strolls along the shore or enjoy sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Another lesser-known but more paradisiacal and romantic option would be to visit the cove of El Peiral. A place of crystal blue waters to dive into and also a place for reflection and meditation due to its magic and tranquillity as it is one of the Hidden Treasures of Ortegal.

-The port of Cariño: Explore the harbour, which is a lively place where you can see fishing boats and enjoy the maritime atmosphere. Also, if you like sport fishing, you can easily obtain a fishing licence for less than 5€ at the A BANCA offices and gamble the nights away with your fishing gear and seek your fortune by catching a succulent delicacy. Otherwise, you can simply stroll along the quays, chat with the fishermen and enjoy the sea views.

-Viewpoints: In addition to the Cabo Ortegal lighthouse, Cariño has other viewpoints. The Pósito viewpoint, near the church, offers good views, as does the Peiral do Campo viewpoint and the Basteira viewpoint. There are also viewpoints from higher places. We recommend the Mirador del Limo and the Mirador de La Miranda, which provide panoramic views, ideal for appreciating the natural beauty of the Ortegal coast.

-Water sports: Given Cariño's coastal location, there are opportunities for water sports. You can try kayaking in calm waters, paddle boarding, surfing on beaches suitable for it, or take the opportunity for a truly unforgettable experience and take that beautiful sailing trip you've always dreamed to do.
